Mahan Mirza

Notre Dame University

Mahan Mirza is the lead professor for the Contending Modernities project, funded by the John Templeton Foundation, at Notre Dame University. He formerly served as dean of faculty at Zaytuna College. He has taught courses in Islamic studies, Western religions, and history of science at Yale University and California State University at Chico. He has edited two special issues of The Muslim World and was assistant editor for the Princeton Encyclopedia of Islamic Political Thought. He earned a BS in mechanical engineering from University of Texas at Austin, an MA from Hartford Seminary, and a PhD in religious studies from Yale.
