Mohammed Rustom is an associate professor of Islamic studies at Carleton University in Ottawa. His research focuses on Sufism, Islamic philosophy, and Qur’anic exegesis. He has edited and co-edited several publications, including The Study Quran and the Islamic Texts Society’s Scholars & Sages of Islam series. He is the recipient of both the Tarjuman Prize from the Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi Society and the 21st International Book of the Year Prize in Iran. In 2017, he is scheduled to serve as a senior research fellow at New York University Abu Dhabi. He earned his Ph.D. from University of Toronto’s Department of Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations in 2009.
